Senior Accountant

Job Description

PGDx is looking for an experienced Accountant who will be responsible for managing the financial reporting process, technical accounting research, month-end close review, and accounting process optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of the US GAAP financial statements, reviews and interpret financial requirements, rules and regulations.
  • Prepare account reconciliations for a variety of accounting areas ranging from Prepaid Expenses, Accrued Expenses, SG&A Expense accounting, Payroll, Lease Accounting and more.
  • Develop, implement and/​or maintain accounting processes related to payroll, purchasing and other reporting systems.
  • Assist in the accounts payable process by reviewing new vendor documentation, vendor invoices, payments and accounting oversight over expense reporting.
  • Peer review work performed by other accountants to ensure transactions are accurately recorded and presented within the financial statements.
  • Assist in performing an internal controls assessment to identify gaps and implement new policies and procedures.
  • Interpret reports and records for managers/​stakeholders including reviewing, tracking, and maintaining information in the financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP and other accounting or tax regulations.

  • Other duties as assigned to support a fast-paced and growing company.

Required Education & Experience

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting required, CPA strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years accounting experience, public accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Technical U.S. GAAP accounting/​reporting experience and ability to research accounting guidance required.
  • Demonstrates strong critical thinking ability and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter who works well in a fast-paced environment, communicates well across all levels of leadership, and is detail-oriented.
  • Experience leading special projects and other ad-hoc requests.
  • Policies and procedures, and internal controls experience required. Sarbanes-Oxley experience preferred.
