NGS Specialist

Job Description

Responsible for establishment and support of new products and clinical applications in the oncology NGS market by working closely with oncologists, pathologists and clinical researchers. The Director of Clinical NGS will help expand the global NGS market and gain adoption of PGDx’s tissue and liquid biopsy targeted assays and directly support sales team in technical discussions. The core objective of this position is the cooperation and collaboration with key opinion leaders (KOLs) to ensure that PGDx’s IVD and RUO assays gain uptake in the clinical market space through clinical and enrollment trials and clinical onboarding at medical institution and create market awareness through presentations, publications, webinar and press releases. This will rely heavily on developing and maintaining strong working relationships with both external customers and internal teams to ensure unimpeded flow of information critical to assay success and clinical uptake.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicates and cooperates on the same technical level with leading scientists and clinicians and serves as a link between external experts and internal management teams including product management as well as research and clinical R&D.
  • Generate demand for PGDx assays by successfully executing a clinical market development plan that combines both clinical evidence and marketing tactics.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial team to build sales funnel and close new accounts through customer segmentation and targeting, lead generation, customer presentations and discussions, and literature/​sales tools development.
  • Works closely with marketing team to develop collateral material that uses clinical data to substantiate the clinical benefits and unique selling points of the assays.
  • Guide corporate strategy and set future product specifications by identifying addressable clinical needs through market, KOL and advisory board feedback.
  • Develop and present well-structured presentations to inform oncologists and pathologists about the latest company developments and support training and sales activity.
  • Represent PGDx at scientific conferences as well as user meetings and trainings as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date on scientific publications, market communications and competition to develop and maintain accurate and consistent messaging within the commercial team.

Required Education & Experience

  • Advanced degree in science or medicine, MD or PhD.
  • Experience in the oncology and/​or NGS marketspace
  • Cooperative personality on both an external and internal profession level.
  • Self-driven work ethic; capable of working remote with minimal oversight.
  • Experience in public speaking, panel moderation, and one-on-one clinician engagement.
  • Experience with product commercialization and working with sales force personnel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Available for travel both car and airplane up to 50% of time.
