Field Application Specialist, EMEA

Job Description

As the PGDx Business in the EMEA region continues to grow and expand rapidly, we are now hiring a Field Application Specialist (FAS) to support new customers in several new territories. The FAS will provide highly visible customer support through the performance of on-site installation, training, customer education, troubleshooting/​validation and general support of PGDx solutions, including consumables, instrumentation and applications in all markets. Serves as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. Interprets customers’ needs and identifies if the responsibility for problem resolution falls to other groups outside of service and support. In addition, this position will also participate in pre-sales activities as required

Key Responsibilities

  • Focused on Post sale technical field support to all customers
  • Involvement in and responsibility for on-site installation, customer training, education and/​or troubleshooting on PGDx solutions, including consumables, instrumentation and applications in all markets. Some repair work may be required.
  • Contribute to achieving and maintaining regulatory compliance, performing IQ/OQ/PQ
  • Develop and maintain highest possible level of technical knowledge and networking
  • Maintain medium level knowledge of automation/​instrumentation and related applications
  • Provide second-tier support for Sales and Technical Support by performing trainings, seminars for internal and external customers
  • Maintain and develop positive relationships with customers
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of reference customers
  • Maintaining highest customer satisfaction
  • Actively promote PGDx products including any Service and Support products and assist in exceeding revenue targets
  • Utilize all available tools such as Service Reports, update Notes, and the relevant databases to input information that will increase effectiveness
  • Work closely and collaboratively with sales and marketing leadership within the region
  • Give active feedback to Sales, Marketing, R&D, Training and your team/​management
  • Manage effective available time and resources
  • Provide international support when required
  • Positively represent PGDx in front of the customer, be a good example!
  • Ability to lift ~50lb or 25kgs
  • Will require work with hazardous substances such as acids and solvents and to work in biological laboratories up to BSL3
  • On-time expense report completion and submission

Required Education & Experience

  • University degree in Biological Science or equivalent experience
  • Extensive practical/​lab experience, or at least 2 years in Technical Service or Field Service highly desirable
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge and understanding of Molecular Biology in particular NGS and/​or competitor products in cancer diagnostics and research
  • Familiarity with bioinformatics preferred
  • Familiarity with command prompt programming, with Linux experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and Passport and willingness to do travel, nationally and internationally to meet business expectations Very good communication skills
  • Multilingual a distinct advantage
  • Written and verbal English language communication skills, additional languages highly desirable
  • Ability to follow business processes and give feedback
  • Ability to work both independently and in a structured work environment
  • Positive, winning attitude at all time

Physical Requirements

  • Easy access to an airport with preferred locations in Germany, Italy, Spain or UK
  • Extensive travel required, within government guidance on COVID-19
  • Provide international and interstate support when required.
  • Ability to lift ~50lbs or 25kgs.
  • May be required to complete laboratory work and work with hazardous substances such as acids and solvents and to work in biological laboratories up to BSL3
