BioPharma Alliance Manager

Job Description

The PGDx Alliance Manager (AM) will maintain and expand PGDx pharma services business and support the strategic direction, vision, and priorities of PGDx. This position will work extensively with external pharma partners and cross functionally with PGDx internal stakeholders including but not limited to sales, marketing, operations, innovation, bioinformatics, procurement, and research and development. The Alliance Manager also must possess a high level of familiarity with PGDx partners and services and have the ability to communicate at the technical level as needed.

The Alliance Manger must be able to maintain and develop deep relationships with Pharma partners in all solution areas; and must be knowledgeable of the partner’s priorities, their markets, business challenges and opportunities. The AM must represent PGDx’s vision, strategy and capabilities of the alliance; and provide updates to the partner of the latest developments of the alliance. The AM is accountable for building multi-level relationships with partners including those at the executive level, producing high-quality leads and opportunities for PGDx business growth through constant engagement with Pharma partners.

The AM must also have the ability to develop proposals and presentations applicable to both the external customer and to the internal PGDx stakeholders. The AM will also prepare documents and gather necessary information for requests for proposals (RFPs) in a timely manner. These RFPs often present new opportunities for business growth and are critical to advance opportunities with external partners.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field
  • 5 – 10 years of experience in managing and developing client relationships, pharma services experience preferred
  • A combination of diagnostic company and startup experience is preferred, but not required
  • Business development knowledge and experience in the molecular diagnostic space, genomics as related to pharmaceutical drug discovery, clinical research, and development of in vitro diagnostics (IVDs)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including making impactful presentations
  • Ability to interface at all levels within an organization for both internal and external customers
  • Attention to detail and ability to write proposals
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong administrative skills with ability to manage business in fast-paced and dynamic environments
  • Ability to support occasional research collaborations, alliance management, and/​or co-development opportunities, as required by the unique customer relationship
  • Self-driven work ethic; capable of working remotely with minimal oversight.
  • Experience in public speaking, panel moderation, and one-on-one client engagement
  • Experience with product commercialization and working with sales teams
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook, sales​force​.com)
  • Available for travel both car and airplane as needed
